Being the information junkie that I am, I picked up the new issue of Entrepreneur magazine the other day and in spite of the majority of the news we’re hearing or reading these days, was delighted by what I read!

The issue is called the “2009 Trends Issue”. And although one might think it goes without saying, one of the trends for 2009 was WEB! Now, I’m sure you’re thinking this is hardly a new trend, but that’s the beauty of having an online business, isn’t it? The internet changes and grows faster than we can keep up with it. There will ALWAYS be room to develop your business or try a different marketing approach. There were 5 major areas that were highlighted under the article on web trends ( By Lindsay Holloway). Here they are:

1) Web apps: For anyone with an iPhone or an iPod touch, you know what these are. And they’re something that will only continue to evolve and become more readily available for all kinds of things! Basically web apps do what traditional software does without taking up the space on your computer!
2) Mobile apps: See above…..the mobile market is still pretty fresh when it comes to new developments and apparently there’s a lot of investment money being put into mobile apps. Look what happened when Apple opened up applications for the iPhone? The same is happening for the new G3 phone by Google and TMobile.
3) Online video: Still huge and still getting great rankings. I think we’ll see a lot more than YouTube making a splash.
4) Blogging; Obviously not a new trend either, but it just keeps getting easier and easier.
5) Web 2.0 consulting: and this isn’t just for online marketers- if you’re savvy with Web 2.0, take your knowledge offline and educate the people who haven’t accepted that you pretty much have to have a website to do business these days.
